


Kiek in de Kök & Bastion Tunnels open to public
The newly opened Kiek in de Kök and Bastion Tunnels with its new exposition “Time travel. Tallinn 1219-2219” offers new knowledge, great entertainment and fresh experience.
The renovated Kiek in de Kök’s first two floors host temporary exhibitions. The third floor's exhibition “Secure city” gives an overview of Tallinn's fortresses through the centuries focusing on crime and punishment in Old Tallinn. Fortresses are layed down on the floor and the younger visitors have the all clear to play around with the exposition.
The fourth floor's exhibition “Tallinn at war” tells the story of how wars, famine and pestilence have beset the city over the centuries. On the fifth floor is unique weapon chamber. An interested crowd can investigate an exposition of weapons as well as try their hand on a shooting stimulator. On the sixth floor, in the café, you can enjoy unique views over Toompea, the lower town and the port while having a cup of coffee or tea.
The Bastion tunnels 10m below the ground will take the visitor to the past as well as back to the future, showing how people have imagined the cities future in the past. There is an impressive exposition of the tunnels history combined with the sound and lights as well as the countless screens with movie clips and much more.

Tue–Sun 10.30–18.00. Last admission 17.30, The Museum is closed on Mondays and public holidays.
